The Store is co-owned by Adeline Olmer and Monique Olmer… a mother/daughter venture! • Adeline Olmer owns Adeline Olmer Design, a company that designs interiors, forecasts trends and designs products that primarily focus on home and entertaining. She received her Masters from Pratt Institute and was a founding partner of Old Friends, a trendsetting company that was instrumental in defining and creating tea as a gift business in the 90’s. She has been quoted and her work featured in such major publications as: Self Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Victoria, Mary Emmerling’s Country, Bridal Guide, The Daily News, The New York Observer and the Tobé Report. Adeline was born in France and travels regularly between the two countries. She is an avid hostess who loves to entertain, bringing her French heritage into her home and sharing it with her guests. She lives in Northern Westchester County, New York with her husband and two children. • Monique Olmer came to the United States from her native France when she was in her late 30s. She came with her husband Francis Olmer and three of her children. Her fourth, a daughter, was born while they were living in Greenwich. Their stay was originally planned to last a few years but it turned into a lifetime move after she fell in love with the United States. In Paris she had been an art student at the famed Académie Julian and had also studied fashion, antiques and interior design. In the early 70’s she owned an antiques store on Madison Avenue and 64th Street called Le Vieux Manoir. Monique has been a resident of Cross River in Westchester County, New York and of Greenwich, Connecticut for the past 40 years. Currently she lives in Shippan Point. Monique is an avid collector as well as an artist whose medium is collage. She is also a writer working on a novel and her memoirs. |
